SKIP GALLERY X CAUKIN STUDIO X SELF SPACE
A SKIP Gallery collaboration, conceived and built by architecture practice CAUKIN Studio, alongside therapy service Self Space.
The Feelings Library is an art installation aimed at bringing awareness to mental health issues and tackling loneliness this Christmas.
Step inside and discover a new way to open up about how you’re feeling and find comfort in connecting with others.
At a time where we feel lonelier and more disconnected than ever — stop for a minute and notice how much we have in common.
Club Golf at Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross
Art + Raving + Crazy Golf + SKIP Gallery = CLUB GOLF at Coal Drops Yard
Back in the early days of January 2020 we were commissioned to design and build a crazy golf course for the super cool shopping district, Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross.
Our in-house creative team Baker&Borowski dug deep into their KX rave daze memories and 5 weeks later CLUB GOLF, the most neonist, smiley-faciest golf course in town was launched.
Curious Fluorious at Canary Wharf
What could be more fabulous than a Baker & Borowski Alice in Wonderland inspired fluro installation at Crossrail Place Roof Garden, created as part of the winter exhibition Connected By Light – a specially curated collection of light artworks, bringing nine new stunning illuminated installations to the Canary Wharf estate.
The roof garden itself is very special, think winding paths and exotic plants from the days when Canary Wharf was a strategic port. Alice in Wonderland was the perfect theme for this magnificent space, complete with giant sculptural props and vignettes designed and built by Baker & Borowski. Fluoro stripes and googly eyes aplenty.
Crossorelle at Canary Wharf
A magical installation inspired by the Jardin Majorellein Marrakech.
While dreaming of sunnier climates, this colourful installation transports visitors to Yves Saint Laurent’s famous gardens in Morocco.
Take a walk through the spectacular roof top gardens and discover beautiful archways, stunning shadows and bold backdrops.
Created by artists Baker & Borowski, the design is inspired by the epic history of the West India Docks and the plants that were brought there from faraway lands, such as North Africa. The history of the area ignited thoughts of their own travels to Morocco where they were uplifted by the sumptuous colours. This is epitomised by the rich palette and shapes of the famous Jardin Majorelle. The art deco style can be seen in global design destinations such as Miami, Florida, and Napier, New Zealand. Crossorelle, is an abstract ode to Marjorelle and Miami, enlivening the Crossrail Place Roof Garden with a burst of colour and design.
Massive Choon in Wembley Park
Returning to Wembley Park after our award winning Slideatron and the vibrant installation of the of the iconic Spanish steps with artist Remi Rough, this time we were invited to celebrate it’s musical heritage by creating Massive Choon a giant, colourful, interactive installation of 2D and 3D artworks by artists and Produce UK creative duo Baker & Borowski.
I
n Summer 2019, dotted around Olympic Way, Market Square and Wembley Park Boulevard, it was hard to miss the huge boom box, turntable, drum kit, musical notes, guitar, amp and microphone all named after the duo’s favourite songs, giving visitors the perfect musical selfie opportunity. It also featured in Creative Boom.
Inspired to bring art out of its traditional gallery context and placing it in unexpected environments, encouraging the public to interact with it in a playful and creative way. Who doesn’t want to stand inside a boombox?
